Update - May 2005

It's the end of May and high time for another progress report.

The Skyjumper album 'Chute the Breeze is in the final mix stage. It is available from the Skyjumper website.

Another interesting job has come up, I am doing the mixing for a short film called Broken Glass by Darren Lindquist. It's a good film, and I'm happy to be a part of the process.

Update - Feb 2005

Well, It's February and I'm not going anywhere warm this winter, so I'm trying to keep busy instead.

There will be 2 websites going up soon for bands I'm working with. The sites are currently in the final build stages. I will post links when they are up.

fxpansion BFD Review

I recently purchased fxpansion's BFD. I am extremely impressed with the results it has been giving me.

BFD ships on 2 DVDs with a comprehensive printed manual. There are about 9 Gigs of drum samples on the DVDs, each drum being multi-sampled at many different velocities.

It appears that BFD will work with just about anything in the way of host apps. It works with the following interfaces: VSTi, DXi, RTAS, AudioUnit and ReWire. The standalone version (included) runs under ASIO on Windows and CoreAudio on OS X.

Sequel to “Afternoon with Andy” and other news

Well, we're 17 songs into the next album. Once we have 20, we'll pick the best 12, do a few more passes over them and put the finishing touches on. Then we'll call it an album. (We might even name it.)

Progress is good. I also just got the latest version of Amplitube Live. It now comes with a plugin version as well. The plugin works quite well and sounds better than the amp simulator that I'm using now. The update was free, and solved another problem that I had been having with the software. I will be writing a review of it soon.
